Knitting brings people together. Whether you’re visiting Iceland for a few days or staying longer, our workshops are a chance to pause, pick up your needles, and enjoy the simple pleasure of knitting together.

Downtown location

Our cozy knitting studio is located just 15min walk from Reykjavik city center, at Hlemmur Haus. The location is directly at the top of the main street Laugavegur, so it’s a convenient spot to start your downtown day with some knitting and coffee.
Beginner or experienced knitter – everyone is welcome!

We welcome knitters of all level, and we’re also happy to teach you the basics of knitting if this is your first time. Our projects are easy, and we have all the materials at the studio, so you only have to bring yourself and your knitting enthusiasm.
Group reservations welcome

If you’re traveling with a group and want to reserve a private workshop, get in touch with us! We can provide workshops in English, Icelandic and Finnish, and can accomodate a maximum of 15 people.

At our mitten workshop, we gather around a shared table, choose our yarn colors, and cast on together. You’ll learn how to start your mitten project and leave with everything you need to finish them at home — plus the memory of knitting in Iceland.

As avid knitters, we love the creativity and calm that knitting brings, and the way it connects people. With Knittable Studio, we wanted to create a cozy space in Reykjavik where travelers and locals can gather around a shared knitting table, start a new project, and enjoy a few relaxing hours of knitting together.

Not at all. The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as experienced knitters. We’ll guide you step by step as we start the mitten project together.
You’ll start knitting a pair of customizable mittens. During the workshop we’ll cast on, begin the cuff, and show you how to continue the project at home.
Yes, locals are very welcome! Our workshops are held in English so travelers can participate, but we love having local knitters join the table as well.
Our workshops are intentionally small, with a maximum of 10 participants, so everyone gets personal guidance and the atmosphere stays cozy and relaxed.
